PO GRANT
Po joined the Thoreau Club as a tennis professional in September of 2018. He grew up in nearby Brookline Massachusetts, where he attended Brookline High School and was a member of the class of 2008. While at Brookline, he was a 4-year varsity tennis player and played USTA junior tennis tournaments extensively.
Po was a member of the class of 2013 at Pitzer College in Claremont, CA, where he studied political science. While at Pitzer, he was a 3-year member of the Pomona-Pitzer basketball team and was a captain his senior year. Po, a USPTA certified teaching professional, has been teaching tennis both full and part-time since the summer of 2013. Po spent 4 years as a teaching professional at the Winchester Country Club and served as the head assistant for the 2017 and 2018 seasons. He spent 3 summers as the assistant teaching pro at the Juniper Point Tennis Club in Boothbay Harbor, ME, and also served as the Tennis Director at the Christmas Cove Improvement Association in South Bristol, ME in the summer of 2016.
Po has spent his winters working at the Winchester Indoor Lawn Tennis center since 2015, coaching ladies USTA teams, junior clinics, and private clients. He also served as both an assistant coach and head coach for the girls’ varsity tennis team at the Cambridge Ringe and Latin High School from 2016-2018. He has a great deal of experience coaching adults and juniors of all levels, from players just getting introduced to the game to highly competitive young adults looking to take their games to the next level. Po is thrilled to be a part of the Thoreau Club community and tennis program. Sports and coaching are his life passions, and he hopes to share that with you on the court!
