We are so glad you have joined us for the launch of the Thoreau Club Tennis Academy Website. The TCTA is born out of burning desire to create THE best tennis academy in the Northeast, if not the nation.
At the TCTA we have two goals:
1. To create players who can compete and win on the national and international levels.
2. To make every player here the best they can be
Our players are improving. The joy in reaching for excellence is palpable on the courts, in the gym and at the tournaments. The $60,000 USTA Women’s Pro Event gave us a chance to see firsthand what is possible with a tennis ball between four lines.
Building a community of parents, players (both recreational and high performance) coaches, staff, and lovers of our game is central to reaching our goals. This website will give us all a forum to communicate, educate and celebrate what we are doing. On the site expect to see highlights of what we do day to day, articles for parents on how to support the players amongst other topics. In particular I hope to focus on my methodology on how I analyze technique/movement and how we look at building mental strength.
Thanks so much for supporting us!
THE THOREAU CLUB
The Thoreau Club Tennis Academy at The Thoreau Club offers individualized coaching and high-performance training for junior players to develop the skills needed to compete at the highest levels. The Academy is exceptional for its coaching staff and approach, its facilities, and the opportunity for players to train and compete with other high-level players. Every player receives a personalized program based on their individual skills and needs while continuing to receive feedback during practice sessions. Our coaches travel with Academy players to tournaments fostering stronger Player-Coach relationships and allowing for observation of competitive play that feeds back into the development of our individualized practice sessions.
At the The Thoreau Club Tennis Academy, we know that each player has their own unique set of skills and we have harnessed this to design programs specifically for each athlete.
