Born in Naples, Italy, he had a long playing career that includes representing Italy in all major international competitions such as the Sunshine Cup and reaching the finals of the 1988 U.S. Open Junior Doubles.
He won the gold medal in doubles at the Mediterranean Games and claimed several ATP Challenger titles(Siracusa,Marsiglia,Jakarta,Genova)
He has competed in all the Grand Slam tournaments and reached his highest ATP rankings of No. 350 in singles and No. 110 in doubles.
